Cross-Media Optimization Studies
"The objective of Marketing Evolution's XMOS (cross-media optimization studies) analysis is to help marketers and their agencies answer the question "What is the optimal mix of advertising vehicles across different media, in terms of frequency, reach and budget allocation, for a given campaign to achieve its marketing goals?" Using methodology designed by the research firm Marketing Evolution and supported by the Advertising Research Foundation and recognized for international research excellence by the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR), the XMOS study simultaneously measures online and offline advertising in the same campaign to determine the optimal mix and weight of each medium." - IAB

Latinos Online
From the Pew Internet and American Life Project comes the latest online demographics study regarding Latinos online. "Latinos comprise 14% of the U.S. adult population and about half of this growing group (56%) goes online. By comparison, 71% of non-Hispanic whites and 60% of non-Hispanic blacks use the internet." Boomers and Seniors Online
From the Pew Internet and American Life Project comes a report regarding Seniors and Boomers online media usage. "While 56% of all Americans go online, only 15% of Americans over the age of 65 have access to the Internet. Wired seniors are more likely than their offline peers to be married, highly educated, and enjoying relatively high retirement incomes. More senior men than senior women use the Internet. Wired seniors are devoted Internet users – 69% of wired seniors go online on a typical day, compared to 56% of all Internet users. The top Internet interests among seniors who go online include email, hobby information, news, health information, browsing 'just for fun,' and weather updates." Health Care Research Online
From the Pew Internet and American Life Project is the latest health care online report detailing trends within online health care research in the US. "Eighty percent of American internet users, or some 113 million adults, have searched for information on at least one of seventeen health topics. Most internet users start at a general search engine when researching health and medical advice online. Just 15% of health seekers say they “always” check the source and date of the health information they find online, while another 10% say they do so “most of the time.” Fully three-quarters of health seekers say they check the source and date “only sometimes,” “hardly ever,” or “never,” which translates to about 85 million Americans gathering health advice online without consistently examining the quality indicators of the information they find. Most health seekers are pleased about what they find online, but some are frustrated or confused.Download a PDF of the full report here

From the Pew Internet and American Life Project's Internet Evolution Reports comes a report on wireless internet access statistics in the US. "Some 34% of internet users have logged onto the internet using a wireless connection either around the house, at their workplace, or some place else." From the Pew Internet and American Life Project's Online Activities and Pursuits reports is a detailed survey of online media categorization and tagging. "A December 2006 survey has found that 28% of internet users have tagged or categorized content online such as photos, news stories or blog posts. Social Networking and Teens
From the Pew Internet and American Life Project's Family, Friends and Community reports is a detailed survey teens and the rise of social networking online. "In the past five years, such sites have rocketed from a niche activity into a phenomenon that engages tens of millions of internet users.
